One of the main reasons that people like to visit Florida and especially Miami is for the beaches. What is a coastal vacation without a few trips to a beautiful beach? Everyone from the very young to the very old loves to play along sandy shores and splash about in the cool waves of the ocean. Going to the beach is fun for almost everyone, but when you go for the day you will need to be prepared by taking along things that you will definitely need.
Almost anytime of the year can be great beach time in Miami. However, hurricane season can be a little unpredictable. It is always a good idea to check the weather forecast to make sure that your trip to the beach will not be hampered by any bad weather. The last thing you will want to do is drag all your beach gear to the water front only to have your day ruined because you did not see what the weather was going to be like.
If you have picked the perfect day to visit the beach, whether in Miami or anywhere else, you have to be prepared. There will be places along the beach where you can buy your beverages and other sunbathing products that you will need, but they are likely to be a little expensive, so buying these items elsewhere and bringing them with you might be a good idea if you are on a budget.
If you are not partial to sand getting into all your cracks and crevices, a beach chair will be in order. This can make lounging a lot more comfortable and a little less sandy. If you are an older person with health issues or if you are taking children, you may want to take your own umbrella or rent one. The sun at mid day can be brutal at the peak of summer and shade can be a very good thing.
Never forget to take along your sun block lotion or spray. Even though most people love to get a good tan, the sun can be dangerous especially when you allow yourself to get burned. Sometimes skin cancer can be caused from just one such incident and it is totally avoidable with the proper skin protection. Those with sensitive skin and small children really need to be sure and be protected from harmful sun rays.
Make sure you have plenty of water to drink when you are at the beach. You do not want to become dehydrated and sports drinks and colas are not always the best source of hydration. Do not forget to take along some good beach shoes or it will not take you long to figure out why you needed them.

Who has not heard how fantastic it is to visit the paradise city of Miami? The one thing there that is hotter than the temperature is the people. Miami is filled with beautiful people and it is one of the top spots for nightlife in the whole country. South Beach is the gathering spot for the rich and famous and everyone else alike. If nightlife is not your thing, then do not be upset because there are still plenty of other exciting things to do there.
Other than the natural beauty that can be enjoyed be visiting the Everglades, just about anywhere, Miami is well known for the beautiful beaches. Residents and visitors alike go there always when the weather is appropriate and that would be almost anytime. If you are taking kids along with you, the beach is a great place to start and end a day.
After the beach, you will want to visit the Miami Metro Zoo. It is fast becoming one of the best in the country. The Florida climate allows them to display a wide variety of animals from all over the globe. They are grouped and exhibited by the regions that they come from.
The Miami Seaquarium is also a wonderful place for families to visit. It is an outdoor park that is also possible because of the climate. You will want to budget in enough time to spend a half a day or more enjoying the marine life that is housed there. Other neat places to visit that have wild life are Parrot Jungle Island and Monkey Jungle. The kids will love the antics of the monkeys in action.

Miami is a city with everything going for it, and for the young or even the young at heart there’s something to do for everyone. Accommodation is plentiful even for those who probably won’t be frequenting the top star hotels. In the South Beach area alone there are over 3,000 beds for rent so you can just imagine how many there are in the whole of the Miami and Miami Beach area. The prices of these beds may range from between $15 per night for a bed in a dormitory to thousands of dollars for some of the best suites in the world.
The best times to travel to Miami in terms of finding good hotel deals are between Easter and Memorial Day and in the autumn months of September and October be warned however that these later months can bring hurricanes!
Enough of the inside, what about the outside? Due to the all year sunshine for which Miami is renowned, it is more than capable of providing the tools with which to eliminate its other renowned factor a place for old people. Miami has an incredibly vibrant outdoor culture and because of this is a magnet for outdoors loving young people just as much as for their balcony loving older counterparts.
You will be able to find a sport or activity to suit every taste in the Miami area depending on the level of action and involvement required. You may feel however, that whilst by the ocean water-based activities are a must. You wouldn’t be the only one. The Crandon Park Marina offers opportunities for deep sea fishing, scuba diving, and power boat hire whilst providing a beautiful setting and restaurant for less adventurous relatives to relax and await your return. Alternatively in the Government Cut jetty area you can find windsurfing centers and even windsurfing only beaches.
For those after a little involvement, but not necessarily heart racing action, perhaps a little biking may be in order. The area’s flat terrain and good weather makes it a perfect cycling location. There are numerous bicycle centers and clubs that will offer bike-hiring services, and anyone can get a free map which will illustrate the cycle-friendly routes, location of bike shops and even give details of bike rack-equipped busses.
