Take A Gambling Break and Enjoy Six Las Vegas Activities That Can Leave You Breathless

0

One of the biggest reasons people go to Las Vegas is to gamble but the city has much more than that to enjoy. So when you get tired of gambling, be sure to take in the other sights that Las Vegas has to offer.

Six Non-Gambling Activities You Can Enjoy While In Las Vegas

1 – Mirage Hotel Pool

When you first walk into the Mirage lobby, you’ll feel as if you stepped into a tropical rainforest. It’s got lots of exotic birds, waterfalls and trees. Go through the atrium, into the casino and out the back to the pool area and what you’ll find is an outdoor retreat. The Mirage pool winds through thick flora and you’ll be greeted by the sounds and sights of the hotel’s waterfall. What can you expect when you finally get to the pool?

You’ll get excellent service from the cabana boys and you can receive cocktail drinks from the waitresses who wear sexy sarongs. You can take part in the water aerobics class, which is offered two times a day. Under the pool manager’s leadership, people can enjoy a 45-minute workout that’s sure to burn off the breakfast buffet they consumed. However, if you’re looking for a more relaxing time, you can enjoy the beach that run the pool’s inner perimeter.

Read a book or enjoy the sun but make sure you use plenty of sunscreen and a hat to keep yourself from getting burnt while you enjoy the prettiest pool in Las Vegas. Keep in mind that the pool is only open for guests but staying at the Mirage is a pretty enjoyable experience overall.

2 – Coyote Café Dessert (inside the MGM Grand Hotel)

If you have a hunkering for dessert, regardless of when it is, then consider the Coyote Café dessert at the MGM Grand Hotel where Chef Mark Miller is in charge. Miller has published many cookbooks and has brought a Southwestern flair to Sin City. Be sure to try a variety of desserts.

3 – Wynn Las Vegas

If you want a hotel room that’s got luxury and class to it, then you want to try the Wynn Las Vegas. Each standard room is 640 square feet with lots of amenities like a full television set and movies. Most hotels don’t go all out on in the rooms because they want you spending your money in the casino. Take in the La Reve, a Franco Dragone Cirque du Soleil circus flavored show that’s received amazing reviews. The restaurant chef is on the premises, which allows you to enjoy any one of the on-location restaurants including:

- Red 8

- SW Steakhouse

- Okada

- Wing Lei

4 – Liberace Museum

Want some culture while you’re visiting Las Vegas? Then enjoy a short cab ride to the Liberace Museum. Here, you’ll see a tribute to the man responsible for bringing Las Vegas its popularity. It’s also got press clippings, cars, jewelry, costumes and lots of photos. This isn’t your run of the mill museum; you’ll leave it… adoring it.

5 – The Las Vegas Strip

Many people call the famous Las Vegas Strip just the Strip or a Boulevard of Dreams, as it’s got all the glitz and glamour one could wish for. Most top name Las Vegas hotels and casinos can be found here and during the nighttime hours, lots of neon adorns the skyline. Take a walk on the strip at night when the temperatures are much cooler.

6 – Stratosphere Tower

This is the United States’ tallest freestanding observation tower and the view is just inconceivable. You can view every part of Las Vegas and even the stretching desert. Of course, it’s much more than a view. It’s also got a roller coaster you can enjoy or, if you’re really daring, a bungee jump that shoots rides up to 45 miles per hour up and down. Survive these and enjoy the bar and restaurant at the top.

First Timer To Las Vegas: Take In The Sights and Enjoy All That The City Has To Offer

If you’ve never been to Las Vegas, the entire event can be exciting and overwhelming. You’ll have so much to experience and sights that will take over your senses. Yet, you’re going to wonder only one thing…where do you begin to tackle Las Vegas?

To Rent Or Not Rent A Car: It All Depends On What You Plan On Doing

Now, upon your arrival, you should be located at McCarren International Airport. Unless you plan to leave the Las Vegas Strip, it’s pointless to rent yourself a car. After all, cabs are the usual modes of transportation in this area. Plus with cabs, you won’t have to worry with getting in and out of parking spaces or where you left the vehicle. Now, if you plan to do more than visit the strip, it may be in your best interest to rent a car. After all, you can check out Red Rock Canyon or even the Hoover Dam.

Where Should You Stay In Las Vegas

When you arrive in Las Vegas, you’re going to need some accommodations (a place to stay). The question becomes where do you go? The answer is rather simple: go for what are you looking for. Do you want a hotel that’s got all the amenities luxurious Las Vegas hotels, do you want something cheap or do you want something that’s both luxurious and cheap?

Hotels To Stay In During Your Trip To Las Vegas (Based On Your Desires)

- Luxurious Hotels/Resorts – Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas, Wynn Hotel and Encore (sister to Wynn Hotel)

- Fun/Party Hotels – Caesars Palace, Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood and Venetian

- Relaxed/Middle Road Hotels – Luxor, MGM Grand, Mirage and Paris

- Cheap – Ballys, Circus, Circus, Excalibur, the Flamingo, Harrah’s, Imperial Palace and Treasure Island

Keep in mind that any one of these places has their pros and they have their cons. Make sure to do your homework before you go to Las Vegas and determine which one is best for you (and your family).

The majority of these hotels are very near to one another, which means you can walk from each one with little difficulties especially if you stay in the strip. However, you decide to stay at the Mandalay Bay but a show you want to see is at the Wynn… you’ll need to catch a cab. You’ll be able to determine what casinos you can walk to and which ones you’ll need a cab,

Before you go asking… yes, you do get free drinks in Vegas so long as you’re gambling. Drinks in Vegas are pretty expensive. If you want to save money, it’s best to locate a bar with a video poker machine and play it with a $10 bill. With free drinks, you’ll be saving lots of money. You’ll be glad to know that Vegas is the one city in the United States where you can walk the streets with an open container.

What To Do If You Don’t Want To Gamble

Are you not a gambler? Las Vegas will still have things to offer you. After all, you can see any of the shows, eat in some of the best restaurants and do some major shopping; the nightlife of Vegas is amazing.

When it’s your first time in Vegas, the best advice you’ll get is to see everything you can. Every casino has different themes and the real fun comes from hopping from casino to casino. Take in some shows when you’re there whether it’s the showgirl routine, musical, comedian or whatever. When you go out to eat, do so at a fancy restaurant; many of the world’s famous chefs work in Las Vegas.

Now when you throw in gambling, shopping and sightseeing, you’re going to have a trip you’ll remember for quite some time and then some.

Freebies In Vegas

Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a huge fan of freebies and living frugally. What self respecting Vegas visitor would ever pay full price if they didn’t have to or leave this great city of chance without getting something for nothing. One of the best services I can provide my fellow man is the ability to share these fabulous free finds with anyone that is interested in what I have to offer.

This is better than a ‘tell all’ book on who did it and why isn’t it? The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens offers a delight to the eyes of the beholder. It is a true delight to all the senses to see the sights and inhale the fragrance of these gardens that display seasonal highlights in plants, flowers, and produce. Each season offers new delights to the senses and there is no admission fee to view these beautiful floral arrangements. This is a great place for a photo op to help you remember your time in Las Vegas.

Have you ever seen water dance? If not, then while you’re visiting the Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio, you’ll want to stick around long enough to witness the fountains of Bellagio. These shows consist of more than 1000 fountains that are literally dancing in choreographed unison with light to the music (you may be surprised or quite possibly impressed by the extent and variety of the music play list for this particular show). This is also free to witness and occurs every half hour or so after 3:00 PM throughout the week and after noon on the weekends.

If you’re looking for more great fun that is free for the entire family to enjoy, head on over to Circus Circus for Circus Acts-this show is free to watch and provides the audience with the thrills and chills of the big top day after day. You can watch different acts as they perform throughout the day at the half hour mark between the hours of 11 AM and Midnight.
